Despite the intense volume of intellectual productions, the number of protections covered by the Industrial Property Law (LPI) is less than 10. One of the factors that can justify this discrepancy is the lack of guidance on the registration and patent process and its benefits, since the specific discipline for the subject is offered only in the sixth semester of the course. At the same time, a large part of the easily accessible readings associated with the theme use language oriented to the legal environment, and do not consider the possibilities of protection for design projects.
