Given this scenario, this project seeks to analyze the presence of women as ambassadors in China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the period between 1997 and 2017. The research consists of an interdisciplinary historical analysis, as it explores the historical and conceptual frameworks of the feminist theory of International Relations and gender theories, in addition to the emancipatory history of women in the Chinese community and their trajectory to the diplomatic career. The paper essentially follows the qualitative method, in addition to literature and documentary research that were used to deal with the data collected from the website of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the female ambassadors.
