One way to achieve these goals is to reduce machine failures and downtime, as these events can cause significant losses to companies, such as defective products, loss of raw material, etc., due to these problems. With this, the Maintenance area has the mission to act in the elimination or reduction of these problems in the industries. The company under study faces problems with the high index of corrective maintenance in its machines, with this, this work sought to propose a maintenance plan with the aid of the FMEA tool (Failure Modes and Effects Analisys - Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) in the primary process of plastic transformation - extrusion. In order to reach this objective, studies of failures, interviews with employees, historical research of the company, analysis of the mode and effect of failures (FMEA) and the use of technical manuals were developed for the elaboration of the Maintenance Plan structured in four parts: a) mechanical inspection routes, b) lubrication route, c) maintenance of exchang’s items and, d) preventive plan.
