Being of fundamental importance for the processes’ continuous operation, it impacts the company in terms of both costs and machine availability. In this context, this paper aims to highlight the influence that integrated decisions between spare parts supply and maintenance management have within an industry related with cargo handling capacity in a port commodity carrier, in order to define an optimal scenario on maintenance vs spare parts supply scenario. The methodology used was bibliographical study, a non-structured survey in the company, process mapping and data collection of costs related with those processes, and analysis of different strategic decisions scenarios on maintenance and spare parts supply. As results, it was proposed a cost structure model related to maintenance, non-maintenance and inventory formation. The scenario selected was non-stocking spare parts combined with non-outsourcing maintenance service and the predominance of preventive maintenance.
