Thus, the geopolitical strategy of Brazil’s performance in Antarctica within the scope of International Relations is discussed. The central object of research of this paper is the Brazilian Antarctic Program, in view of the celebrations, in 2022, of its 40 years of presence on the continent. As a general objective, we sought to analyze the geopolitical contributions of the Brazilian Antarctic Program to Brazilian Foreign Policy in its 40 years of experience in Antarctica. For this, a historical overview of the most relevant landmarks that occurred in Antarctic history before and during Brazil's presence on the continent was made. Moreover, it is evidenced by the nature of Antarctic geopolitics guided by the Antarctic Treaty and its regime of international cooperation, Brazil's position in this system, the context of Brazilian insertion in Antarctica, as well as the main geopolitical reasons that motivated the creation and continuity of PROANTAR. In conclusion, it is considered that PROANTAR was an important mechanism of Brazil's practice in Antarctic geopolitics, having a role in increasing the country's international prestige and bringing the country closer to the main debates that take place in the Antarctic regime.
