The bioeconomy is seen as strategy for sustainable development, combining economic growth with environmental preservation. The objectives of this study include understanding successful policies, challenges, and opportunities to enhance synergy between the bioeconomy and foreign trade sectors. The methodology adopted includes a systematic review of the literature related to the bioeconomy and foreign trade, focusing on practices, policies, and economic impacts of this interaction. Analyses of empirical and theoretical studies were conducted, along with the identification of patterns and knowledge gaps, and the possibility of a meta-analysis to synthesize relevant data. The results indicate that ApexBrasil’s initiatives, such as training and strategic partnerships, have improved the competitiveness of Pará’s products in the international market. Simultaneously, Banpará, through its credit lines and tax incentives, has facilitated the adoption of sustainable practices by local entrepreneurs. The research also highlighted the need for greater coordination among the various actors in the bioeconomy value chain.
