When loading and transporting material, it is crucial to maximize the capacity of off-road trucks, but there are limits set by manufacturers to preserve the equipment. When these limits are exceeded, overloads occur, resulting in operational losses. This study proposes to analyze and implement strategies to mitigate these overloads at an iron ore mine in Pará, in order to minimize the associated production losses by applying the Problem Analysis and Solution Method. In conjunction with the PDCA cycle and other quality tools, data provided by the company was used to develop the work. The research contributed to the academic background of the researcher, highlighting the importance of production engineering in improving operational processes and fleet management to reduce overloads. In addition, the study seeks to deepen the understanding of overburden in large mines, with the aim of improving loading and transportation operations, reducing operating costs and improving overall mining efficiency.
