Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Bacharelado em Relações Internacionais) – Universidade do Estado do Pará, Belém, 2023.https://bibliotecadigitaldetcc.uepa.br/handle/riuepa/539This paper proposes an analysis of public policies aimed at electronic sports (esports) as a soft power tool in South Korea and Brazil. Its goal is to verify if esports are used by these States as a foreign policy resource that aims to obtain absolute gains in the international sphere. The guideline of this research is made by a comparative case study method, through a qualitative analysis of the data obtained about the South Korean and Brazilian legislation around the analyzed object. The survey of the corpus tracked 50 documents that addressed the theme within the institutional websites of the South Korean and Brazilian government. Among the main results, there is the consolidated approach of the South Korean government towards esports, as the country presents public policies in order to promote its gaming culture on the international stage, achieving international gains in alliances and partnerships, economic integration and public prestige. Concerning Brazil, the absence of a consensus in its public power, regarding the object of research, stands out. Some gains in international public prestige, however, are converted to the country, even though there are incipient bases of the State regarding the practice of esports. These actions were developed, most of the time, without significant government interventions.Língua PortuguesaAbertoEsportsForeign policySoft powerBrazilSouth KoreaOs esportes eletrônicos como dimensão de política externa: um estudo comparativo entre Brasil e Coreia do Sul.Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (TCC)
